Floor, uniforms, etc

With my recent surgeries and the starting of school it has been tough to get back in the blogging mood. The floor is finished. It's a white maple with black lines and maroon highlights. Woodrow Wilson and Flying Eagles are along the baselines with a huge eagle at center court. Still need to put up the pads under each goal but it's looking great. We will play some of our games there this year but permanent bleachers won't be available until next year.
Our booster's organisation is coming up to speed and working on several fund raisers to help get us through the season. We have already exceeded everyone's expectations.
New uniforms-home and way have been ordered as have new warm-ups and travel suits.
We have had between 10-20 girls lifting and conditioning 4 days a week since school started with several freshmen attending. The fact that there are that many girls interested is very encouraging and the senior leadership right now seems to be doing well.
One problem though is that some of our seniors have to work, job shadow, take care of siblings or other personal reasons for missing and this necessarily slows down their conditioning. I don't know of any way this can be avoided and I'm sure this is a problem at some schools as well.

Almost Finished

The floor is finished, the goals are up, the logo and names are on the floor and it has been sealed. The holes for the volleyball standards have yet to be drilled nor have the wiring for the retractable goals been installed. Everything else is great. Word is though that there will be no bleachers installed this season. The girls are back in school and eager to get the season started.
